    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just as Other Reviewers Reported The prime rib roast I ordered was delivered on time; I followed the cooking instructions exactly and the roast was at the internal temperature exactly when directions said it would be. All my guests raved about the flavor of the meat and how tender it was. Being a vegan, I have never cooked a prime rib before. If I can do it, anyone can! I would have given this five stars except that when it was delivered, there was no longer dry ice in the container and the meat was barely cool. I was very nervous about storing it in the frig for four days and if it had spoiled in transport, but it was just fine.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even Better Than Expected! I had ordered Christmas gifts in the past for my parents and son and daughter-in-law, but never anything for my wife and me, until this year. But rather than steaks and burgers, I ordered a prime rib for our Christmas Day dinner. I could have ordered the same from our local Hy-Vee store, but really wanted to try the Kansas City Steak version, despite the higher price. And we were blown away by the product. Better than some prime rib I've had at supposedly superior steak houses in the KC area, and easily and quickly cooked at home, to boot. We'll seriously consider having a repeat for Christmas 2015! Or possibly even sooner...

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nothing Special I bought these (2 of the 4.5-5.0) because I had heard of this company and that the quality was good and flavorful. I made these for New Years. My family was not impressed. They had no flavor and were a bit tough. This was for rare (120-125 degrees). I had made my own Prime Rib at Christmas with Prime Rib Roast I got from a local butcher (half the cost and 14 pounds) and seasoned myself which was so much better--there were no left overs. With these Kansas City Steak Prime Rib Roasts--I had left overs that I couldn't even give away. Very disappointed with this expensive purchase.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I sent a review via an email guess it didn't make it in here I checked to make sure. This prime rib was the worst thing I have ever tasted the texture was wrong and not even meat like. I took 2 bites and gave up my husband ate more and was sorry for it. Last year we had trouble with our local market so 2 years running no Christmas dinner for us. I am not sure what was sent to us but it was NOT a Prime Rib roast after 30 minutes of resting it never bled out when sliced it was like cutting tofu there was no resistance. I should have taken pictures it was just indescribable. Sad part is the free hamburgers were great so we had high hopes for Christmas Dinner.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Customer We enjoyed the 3.5-4 pound traditionally seasoned rib roast on Christmas day - it was very flavorful and tender. I do, however, question the cooking instructions of 375F throughout the cooking time. The restaurant way to cook is low and slow for an evenly cooked roast. I used my usual method of 300f for the whole cooking time which was about 2 hours and I had an evenly medium rare roast after 15 minutes rest time. That rest time is crucial for a truly juicy roast. I had seen these on QVC but the sizes there are always too big for a small family - this was a perfect size.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I got the great idea to serve prime rib for Christmas day dinner, but what I didn't realize was that I was going to end up with 28 people. I ordered 3 of the 5.5 pound roasts and they arrived package well and on time. Although I did not eat the prime rib on Christmas, I ate it the next day for lunch and loved it. I received many compliments regarding the dinner and the prime rib. The only thing that I stressed about was how long to cook 3 prime ribs and that is where the meat thermometer came in handy. I would buy again.

I've bought the traditional rub prime rib for 2 Christmases in a row now and it is always perfect, however, this year I had my sister over, who has Celiac's Disease and she could not eat the roast because the rub contains wheat starch!! I had to run out and buy her a steak, otherwise she would have had no meat. Please stop putting any type of glutens in your roasts because there are many people who have Celiac's or gluten intolerance and it's a hidden danger, unless one carefully reads the ingredients! This problem almost ruined our Chrustmas and you are excluding people from enjoying your roasts.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Solid like a rock We followed the directions, thawing out the roast for three days, and letting it sit uncovered in the refrigerator overnight. We roasted it at 450 for 20 minutes, then at 325 until the internal temp. reached 120. The taste was very good, but this roast had almost no fat on the outside, and almost no marbling on the inside, which left a solid, non-juicy piece of meat at our table. Very disappointing for the price we paid.
