  • 6 oz Filet Mignon
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. hungarian paprika
  • 1/2 tp. ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. madras curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, ground
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp. peanut oil
  • prepared fruit salsa, such as pineapple or mango

Mix spices together in a small bowl and generously season the 6oz Filet Mignon by rubbing each on both sides with the spice mix. Let stand at room temperature for an hour. Heat the oil in a large cast iron skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks on both sides, then sauté to desired doneness. Serve immediately with spoonfuls of fruit salsa over the top.
