  • 6 oz Filet Mignon
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. hungarian paprika
  • 1/2 tp. ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. madras curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, ground
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp. peanut oil
  • prepared fruit salsa, such as pineapple or mango

Mix spices together in a small bowl and generously season the 6oz Filet Mignon s by rubbing each on both sides with the spice mix. Let stand at room temperature for an hour. Heat the oil in a large cast iron skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks on both sides, then sauté to desired doneness. Serve immediately with spoonfuls of fruit salsa over the top.
