This Prime Rib of Beef from Kansas City Steak Company™ is the centerpiece of a truly special meal. Our Boneless Roast is one of the most delicious cuts available. Delicately marbled, trimmed to perfection, and perfect for your favorite roast and rib recipes.

  • Cooking

    Thaw prime rib roast in refrigerator for at least 3 days before preparing.

    Place meat fat side up on rack, in a shallow roasting pan. Season with Original Steak Seasoning (included in your order). Rub evenly over surface of netted roast, leaving netting on while cooking. Do not add water or cover.

    Roast in 375°F oven until meat thermometer inserted into the center of the roast registers an internal temperature of 135°F (approximately 1 ½ hours) for medium rare or 145°F (approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours) for medium.

    Cover roast with aluminum foil tent and allow to stand 15 to 20 minutes. Remove netting and trim excess fat before carving.

    Our roasts are available in various sizes. Adjust cooking times when appropriate. We suggest using a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness.

     USDA Preparation Guidelines for Mechanically Tenderized Beef:
     Bake until product reaches 145F as measured by a food thermometer, and  hold the product at or above that temperature for 3 minutes.

I bought the smallest of the Prime Rib, I was wanting to order a large one for a change up on our Christmas Dinner although I was a little leery because I had never fixed this cut of meat, I'm actually not much of a cook at all! So I thought I would get the smaller cut to prepare for my husband's birthday and check out the taste and the ease of preparation. I was amazed, the preparation was so easy (far easier than a turkey) and the taste was wonderful. I had my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids over and the small one fed us all with a bit leftover. It was even delicious the next day heated in the microwave if you can imagine. I have already purchased the largest one they have for Christmas. It will be delivered the week before Christmas - this is amazingly easy! Really excited about Christmas dinner and the simplicity of the preparation (meat wise that is) and the delicious dinner all of my guests will enjoy!! Thx KCSC

The quality of their meats is excellent, and the shipping is always fast. I had purchased steaks from that other meat company in the past, and unlike Kansas City, I found their meats to be dry. Kansas City steaks have always been moist and flavorful.

    Is there a big difference between stock prime rib and USDA Prime rib roast?

    The biggest difference between the two products is going to be the Grade. The Prime Rib Roast will be Choice grade the USDA Prime Prime Rib Roast is going to be Prime grade.

    How long can you keep a Prime Rib in freezer before you cook it?

    We guarantee our product for up to a year frozen from the date of purchase. This does not mean that after a year it will expire, the quality could just begin to diminish after that time.
