With its deep red-orange color and firm texture, our wild- caught sockeye salmon is one of the most intense, flavorful filets you will ever experience. As one of the fattiest salmon, the sockeye is loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids. So good, and so good for you, too.

    Thawed: Remove the product from all packaging and place on tray or plate. Loosely cover and thaw under refrigeration. Keep thawed product refrigerated and use within 2 to 3 days. When ready to prepare, preheat the oven to 400ºF. Remove salmon from cover and place skin-side down on a sheet pan sprayed with non-stick oil. Bake for 15-22 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 150ºF when measured with a thermometer.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mediocre At $15 an 8 ounce filet, this should have been a wondrous salmon--not so. I could have ordered dozens of items from KC Steakhouse that were better. Lots of butter and lemon did not help--maybe hollandaise or bearnaise would have. You could bypass this item with no problem.

The color is suspect as well. It is much darker than most other salmon I have eaten and the color is not evenly distributed throughout the fillet. I prefer fish with the skin removed. The skin does not appreciably add to the moisture or flavor of the fish. The skin is usually left on to add more weight to the fillet so it will cost more. The flavor was very good and the flesh was moist. For me it was overpriced for the amount of edible product in the fillet.

Everyone loves the different Salmons and the steaks as well. The Quality and the taste of the KC products are the best around. You can buy from your local market, however, more than likely you will not get the Quality that you will recieve from KC Steak Co. Try the Salmon as well as other items, you will not be disappointed.     Is there still bottom skin on and if so can I buy it without the skin?

    Thank you for contacting us! Our Sockeye Salmon Filet is still from the same vendor and there is still the bottom skin on the filets. Unfortunately this is the only way we currently off our Sockeye Salmon Filets. I will pass along your request to see if we can add the Sockeye Salmon to not have the skin along the bottom.
