Details

Our beautiful Chilean Sea Bass entree is firm but flaky perfection. Its buttery taste lends itself to a variety of sauces or marinades - or just as is. Bake, grill, pan roast this wild caught fish for a wonderful meal. Try it with our Orange Honey Butter for a citrusy zing!

  • Cooking

    From thawed preheat oven to 350 F. Select a pan that can be used on the stove and in the oven. Heat a small amount of olive oil in the pan, then sear the Sea Bass for one minute per side. Place in the oven and finish for 10 to 12 minutes. Adding a little water or white wine to the pan while cooking provides extra flavor and moisture.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Quality but Disproportionate in Size My husband says the Sea Bass is some of the best he's ever had, however, the only issue we had is that the portions sizes are not equal in size; some of the pieces were long and narrow, and other pieces were square and wide, therefore, it made it difficult to bake two or more pieces of Sea Bass for the same amount of time. In addition, 12 minutes for two of the pieces was not long enough - the Sea Bass came out very rare, so I had to put two of the pieces back for 20 minutes and then they were perfectly flaky. For other pieces, 12 minutes of baking was perfect.

Thickness varied from less than 1" to over 2". To get around these different fillets; I cut the larger ones (8 oz.+) in half. Broiled them for 7 min. on one side and 6 min. on the other. Great results!

Before ordering with Kansas City Steak Company I would only be able to have it at the finer restaurants and would pay top dollar for it. So glad I can now have it at home for a lesser cost! One of my favorites from KC!!
