  • Cooking

  • The marbling and thickness of a Ribeye, make it the perfect steak for grilling
  • High heat and quick cooking is the best way to cook these tender steaks
  • Internal temperature for rare is 120° - 130°, medium rare is 130° - 140° and for medium is 140° - 150°. You can also judge the doneness of steak by pressing the meat with your finger. Very rare meat offers little resistance, medium rare is slightly springy, medium is firm and springy, and well-done steak feels quite firm.
  • Ribeye steak grilling times may vary depending on you cooking equipment, we recommend cooking ribeyes medium rare to medium for maximum flavor and tenderness.
  • You do need to watch for flare- ups when grilling- if you have one, move the steak to a cooler section of the grill.

     USDA Preparation Guidelines for Mechanically Tenderized Beef:
     Grill until product reaches 145F as measured by a food thermometer, and  hold the product at or above that temperature for 3 minutes.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly disappointed!!! I have purchased these ribeye steaks on a couple of occasions and really enjoyed them thoroughly! Because of past experience I signed up for a subscription to these steaks, but was shocked when i received my first order. My steaks where thin and smashed, not an inch thick and magnificently cut. I figured let me try one before judging them, but was dismayed to see what looked (and tasted) like choice cuts I would get from Western Beef... actually, not even that good! needless to say i am canceling my subscriptions and probably going back to Chicago Steaks. Sorry, but when you pay this kind of money, one should be able to expect much better quality than what I received.

Each year on his Birthday Dec. 19th I send him Kansas City Ribeyes, that's his favorite. He loves getting the package, it's always properly packaged to ensure the steaks are perfect. The ribeyes have such a wonderful rich flavor they are perfect for grilling. Now his two boys have learned to love these steaks so Dad has to share. Thank you Kansas City Steak Co. for making one Midwest boy have a taste of home and a Happy Mom.

They are very thin making it difficult to cook the way I like it (medium). I tried multiple methods from grilling and using Gordon Ramsay's technique for cooking it steak in a skillet (search on youtube). With both methods it was hard to get the doneness I desired with the proper amount of browning on the steak. I used a very hot iron skillet and grill in both cases. If the cut was thicker, this wouldn't be an issue. The photos are a bit misleading. Thickness range should be listed in the description of the product. I would order again but try maybe a bigger steak (14oz) in hopes it will be thicker so I can cook it the way I like it.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ribeye, mmmmmmmmmmummm My wife and I had almost stopped buying meat. Over the years we have purchased meat from Krogers, Sams Club, Marsh and a local meat market. The meat at one time was very good most of the time. In the last few years it has gone down hill, tough, grizzle and tasteless. I decided to try a mail order meat house such as yours. We have only had three meals so far and all I can say is..........it's the best meat I've eaten in a long time so far. Yes it cost more but at least we can chew it and it has a great taste. I'm sure I will be ordering again.

However, while they were almost exactly the same size, the cuts did not match so that interfered with how we cooked them. One was much more fatty than the other, so it curled in the pan, while the other one came out just perfectly. If you buy pairs, I would only suggest making a special request that they are better matched.

I then received an email offer that out did the competitor two-fold, free shipping as well. The 10 oz rib eyes I received made me wonder just what size I'd been receiving from their competitor. K.S. were noticeably larger and taste wise was as if my butcher cut them that morning. UNBELIEVABLE! Although I'll still wait for sales and reduced shipping, K.S. will now be my main source for meat.....cant wait to try some of their other items!
