    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too thin and tough. After having read all of the amazing testimonials, I was excited about our order of 6 porterhouses. The first steak grilled we found to be very thin, tough, and very fatty (which the dogs loved, but I spent more time cutting away all of the gristle than I did actually grilling it). Thinking it was an anomaly we tried another steak the next week and for weeks there on, with the same results- the steaks were brown, thin, tough, and fatty. Not worth the price, although your dogs might disagree.

Theproblem was the steaks were cut too thin, so wouldn't hold the juices & flavors. Mayas well have had an overdone 'breakfast steak'! I think KC did a disservice tocustomers with this offering. Would not order this product again...unless I got aguarantee the steaks would be cut thicker.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Porterhouse Steak Using KC for years. Porterhouse purchased was full of grizzle, tougher than a hockey puck. Even tenderloin portion was full of grizzle and tough. Flavor was fine but unable to even get 4 or 5 pieces that were edible. Rest of steaks in box were as heavily grizzled as one I cooked. Will feed to neighbors dog if he can chew them. Will not recommend friends buy these steaks.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from tasty These steaks are very flavorful, just wish they were thicker. Was expecting at least 1", but these are barely 1/2" thick. They can go from medium to well done in a flash.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing. Purchased rib roasts over the holidays for ourselves and for friends and found them very good. Purchased 6 22oz. Porterhouse steaks a few months ago, and since they were cryovaced, kept them frozen until last weekend and we six (our friends) all agreed; they were tasteless, tough and too much gristle. Will order Prime Sirloin soon and hope to have a better experience.

We have tried others but none compare to the excellent quality, taste and service we receive from the Kansas City Steak Company. My wife loves the Filet Mignon wrapped in Applewood bacon. I prefer the bone in steaks such as T-Bone, Porterhouse and Ribeye. We have recommended KCSC to friends and family who all agree they are the best online steaks available.

    Can we order a thicker cut of meat for the porterhouse in either the standard or private stock? We usually give 36 - 38 oz steaks to our clients. If so, what would the cost be for 2 or 4?

    I have three questions: 1. Why the substantial difference in price between your USDA Prime and your regular Porterhouse? 2. How thick are the Porterhouse steaks? 3. Do the variuos steaks have the same thickness? 4. What is the most flavorful steak?

I'd be happy to answer your questions.USDA Prime Porterhouse - 4 ( 18 oz ) $159.95Porterhouse - 4 ( 18 oz ) $89.95They'll approximate 1" for our 18 oz Porterhouse and about 1.25" - 1.5" on our 22 oz Porterhouse.Our various steaks do differ slightly, but we try to keep them around 1" - 1.5" .For our most flavorful steak really comes down to personal preference. The popular steaks for comments on it's flavor has to go to our Ribeye.

    Can you tell me what the difference is between a Porterhouse steak and a T-Bone steak?

    Thanks for contacting us! The Porterhouse and the T-Bone are both cut from the Short Loin, but the Porterhouse offers more of the rich, tender filet and the T-Bone offers more of the rich strip. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
