Cheese Bread

2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 tbsp. onion, grated
1 1/2 tbsp. dried dill
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
Directions: Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into large bowl. With a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese, onion and dill. Mix well. Combine milk and beaten egg; pour into flour mixture, Stir quickly with a fork, just to moisten other ingredients. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove and serve warm.

Serves 4-6
