Preparing Seasoned Steaks Certified by the American Heart Association

On the Grill

Bring steaks to room temperature and sear over maximum heat on charcoal grill for one minute each side. On a gas grill, sear for 2 minutes each side. Then, reduce heat to medium and grill using the times listed, Click Here for a Grilling chart or turn to the chart on p. 4 of the Gourmet Guide. Cook steaks medium rare (approx. 135F) to medium (approx. 145F) for optimum flavor and tenderness. For added flavor, squeeze a lemon over the steaks before serving.
