ingredients

  • 12 medium shrimp, peeled and de-veined
  • 1/4 cup mexican beer
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. ancho powder
  • 1 tbsp. coriander
  • 1 tbsp. lime zest
  • 1 tbsp. fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • For the Shot:
  • 1/4 cup organic spicy ketchup
  • 1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 cup V-8 ™ Vegetable Juice, no added salt
  • 1/2 tbsp. horseradish
  • 1 splash Cholula Hot Sauce
  • salt and pepper, to taste

In a large bowl combine the beer, juice, and spices. Mix well. Add the shrimp and marinate for 30 – 40 minutes. Preheat the grill to a medium-high heat. Grill the shrimp 1 – 2 minutes per side. Remove and chill until needed. For the shot: Combine all of the ingredients, and let set for 15 – 30 minutes before using. Final Assembly: Fill a 1 oz. shot glass three quarters full with shot mixture. Place one shrimp on the rim of the shot glass. Garnish with shopped cilantro and lime zest.
