  • Cooking

Thaw in refrigerator for at least 24 hours.

    Grill Master (Charcoal/Gas)

  • Season as desired: We recommend Kansas City Steak Original Steak seasoning. Place steaks over medium, ash-covered coals, or, preheat gas grill on high, then reduce to medium heat while cooking steaks.
  • Grill to desired doneness, according to time listed, turning once for 1-inch thick steaks, occasionally for thicker steaks.

    Stove Top Skillet

  • Heat a heavy nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot, for about 5 minutes.
  • Season, as desired. Place steak(s) in preheated skillet (do not overcrowd). Do not add oil or water. Do not cover. Cook to desired doneness according to the times listed, turning once for 1-inch thick steaks, occasionally for thicker steaks.

    Broil

  • Set oven for broiling; preheat 10 minutes. During broiling, the door of an electric oven should be left ajar; the door of a gas oven should remain closed. (Consult your owner’s manual.)
  • Season, as desired. Place steaks on rack in broiler pan. Position broiler pan so that the surface of the beef is 3 to 4 inches from the heat. Broil to desired doneness, according to times listed, turning once.

USDA Preparation Guidelines for Mechanically Tenderized Beef:
Grill until product reaches 145F as measured by a food thermometer, and  hold the product at or above that temperature for 3 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welcomed Gift I purchased six Porterhouse and six T-Bones for a dear friend. He cooked and ate several of the steaks on his cast on social media to the delight of his viewers. He has us sold on their tastiness from his reaction while eating your steaks right before our eyes. My next order will most definitely be for my own family!

What section can i find the soy ?

    Asked by: SoyLife
Thank you for your question. You will not find any soy in the Porterhouse Steaks, if you select a size and quantity from the drop down box you will find the nutrition information on the left side of the screen.

What is the usual thickness of the 6 X18 oz porter steaks? And what grade of meat is  Classic grade? My next question is the cooking time in an electric broiler in my kitchen.

    Asked by: Jack123
Great question! We do guarantee our Steaks by weight not thickness, the 18oz Porterhouse Steaks are approximately 1.00" thick. This specific item is USDA Choice Grade, we do offer USDA Prime. You can find those options under USDA Prime (Private Stock). Please refer to Grilling 101 to see the recommended chart for outdoor/indoor grilling time suggestions.

Can we order a thicker cut of meat for the porterhouse in either the standard or private stock? We usually give 36 - 38 oz steaks to our clients. If so, what would the cost be for 2 or 4?

    Asked by: Debbie R
Thank you for contacting us! Unfortunately at this time we only offer 18oz and 22oz Porterhouse steaks. Our steaks are cut by weight so the thickness of each steak may vary. If you have any other questions contact customer service at 1-800-524-1844

I have three questions: 1. Why the substantial difference in price between your USDA Prime and your regular Porterhouse? 2. How thick are the Porterhouse steaks? 3. Do the variuos steaks have the same thickness? 4. What is the most flavorful steak?

    Asked by: Curt
Thank you for contacting us! I'd be happy to answer your questions. USDA Prime Porterhouse - 4 ( 18 oz ) $159.95 Porterhouse - 4 ( 18 oz ) $89.95 They'll approximate 1" for our 18 oz Porterhouse and about 1.25" - 1.5" on our 22 oz Porterhouse. Our various steaks do differ slightly, but we try to keep them around 1" - 1.5" . For our most flavorful steak really comes down to personal preference. The popular steaks for comments on it's flavor has to go to our Ribeye.

Can you tell me what the difference is between a Porterhouse steak and a T-Bone steak?

    Asked by: Porterhouse Fan
Thanks for contacting us! The Porterhouse and the T-Bone are both cut from the Short Loin, but the Porterhouse offers more of the rich, tender filet and the T-Bone offers more of the rich strip. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
