Tangy Pepper & Bourbon Sauce

1 small onion, diced fine
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/4 cup bourbon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tsp. prepared mustard
2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
Directions: In 1 quart sacepan heat oil; and saute onion. Remove from heat and deglaze with bourbon. Add remaining ingredients and return to heat to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Baste steaks during final stages of grilling; serve excess sauce on side.
