Most items from Kansas City Steak Company arrive in our attractive gift-grade box, packed in a sturdy reusable insulated cooler with enough gel ice or dry ice to ensure they remain frozen or chilled during shipment.

To learn more about our unboxing experience and what to do when your package arrives visit kansascitysteaks.com/unboxing.

If any dry ice remains in the cooler when your package arrives, please do not touch the remaining dry ice with bare hands. Instead, leave it in the cooler in an area with good ventilation and allow it to evaporate.

Gel ice can be reused or disposed of.

All shipments are sent in insulated Styrofoam coolers with either gel ice or dry ice. Like traditional ice, gel ice will liquify as it thaws but dry ice is a gas that evaporates as it reaches room temperature.

It is possible and quite common to have no dry ice remaining in the insulated cooler when your order arrives. If this is the case, you need not be concerned.

As long as your items are refrigerator cold when they arrive, they may be refrozen. However, raw chicken and seafood items should NOT be refrozen. Instead, store them in the refrigerator and prepare within 3-5 days of arrival.

About Our Products

Sounds simple, but knowing your producer is the starting point to great steaks. That's why we've sourced the best cattle in the country from trusted Midwestern producers with known and approved management methods by building long-running relationships over generations.

These ranchers and feeders have produced some of the best beef in the world for over two centuries. Our home state of Kansas is one of the top three cattle producing states in the U.S. This area is known for its grain fed beef which delivers a rich, savory flavor.

Single ingredient meat items such as classic steaks, steakburgers and roasts do not contain any gluten and/or known food allergens, but some of our other pre-seasoned or prepared items may. Please read the ingredient information on our item pages or on the packaging label for a complete ingredient list.

Selecting what's the best steak to enjoy is truly a personal decision. While bone-in steaks can create a dramatic presentation and boast a lot of flavor, boneless steaks tend to be easier to carve, which some find more convenient. So, whether it's a Kansas City Strip or Porterhouse, we say that the best steak is the one you prefer. Perfect for any occasion, our steaks are available in a variety of cuts and can be prepared in a variety of ways.

Check out our steak guide today and learn more about how to choose the best cut of steak.

It's difficult to know how long the steak you buy in a supermarket is aged (if at all) but knowing how to age steak is an important component in creating a full flavored, tender steak.

We vacuum seal our steaks and allow them to age in a climate-controlled environment for up to 28 days. This wet aging process delivers the rich flavor and tenderness you expect from a quality steak cut.

To earn the USDA Prime designation, beef must earn a specific quality grade at the time of slaughter. This grade is based on a combination of marbling and age of the animal. Less than 5-6 percent of all beef produced in the United States earns this designation. Marbling adds flavor, and younger beef cattle produce the most tender meat, which is why the Prime grade is given to the younger cattle with the most abundant marbling. The Choice grade is given to meat that comes from younger cattle with moderate marbling. It is still very flavorful, tender, and juicy.

What is marbling? Marbling refers to the intermingling or dispersion of fat in the muscle of the meat. Flavor and juiciness are directly connected to marbling, which keeps meat moist. Because this fat doesn't evaporate while cooking, the result is a flavorful, juicy steak.

This is common when oxygen is removed from the packaging during this process. The additional ingredients contained in our flavored Steakburgers may also cause color variation.

Cooking Instructions

There are numerous ways to prepare steak. We suggest high heat methods like pan frying, grilling, or broiling. Or you can use a specialty cooking method like sous vide or air frying with many of our steaks.

Just use our steak guide for expert tips that will have you cooking steak like a pro!

From oven roasted to grilling and searing techniques used by fine restaurants.

Follow our step-by-step how to cook roast guides for expert tips that will have you cooking roast like a pro!

Our ham is delicious and ready to thaw and eat or heat and serve. Please see the appropriate item page for complete heating instructions or follow the instructions below on how to cook a spiral ham.

Thaw up to 3 days in refrigerator. Will keep in refrigerator 14 days (in the original wrapping) or in the freezer 9 months.

To heat, remove all packaging materials including the clear plastic button on bone. Wrap ham in aluminum foil and place flat side down in pan. Heat in preheated 350°F oven for 60-75 minutes or until 140°F. Let rest 15 minutes before serving.

To glaze ham: Remove the ham from the oven; increase oven to 425°F. Prepare glaze according to packet directions. Brush glaze over ham. Return to oven for 10 minutes.

For food safety, cook to an internal temperature of 165°F.

From Frozen:

Microwave - Remove wrapper, microwave on high for 4 - 4 1/2 minutes for 8 oz potatoes, or 3 1/2 - 4 minutes for 5 oz potatoes.

Conventional Oven - Remove wrapper, bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes for 8 oz potatoes, or 35-40 minutes for 5 oz potatoes. Cook until tops are golden brown.

Reheating steak is tricky. You can reheat your steak in an air fryer or you can preserve as much of the natural juice that you can from the initial meal to reheat. Refrigerate your leftover steak in that juice. Then warm the au jus in a saucepan and add your leftover steak. Heat just until warm. This will help prevent overcooking and add flavor back into your steak.
