Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Flavor I bought the USDA "Prime" Prime Rib for our family for Christmas dinner with great anticipation for a meal fit for a king. Having eaten USDA Prime Prime Rib at Mortons Steak House and Vic and Anthony's I could'nt wait to try it. Well I thawed it out in the fridge per the recomendations and cooked it as I usually do using Alton Brown's low and slow method which has alway produced resturant quality prime rib. Although the Kansas City prime rib was tender, it had absolutly no flavor as I am used to with USDA Prime meats. I, as well as my family were disipointed with the quality of the meat, and will probably not purchase again from KC Meat Co.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spoiled My Christmas Eve Meal I bought this roast as a special celebration treat for my in-laws because my father in-law had just undergone a 5 hour spine surgery. The roast arrived vacuum sealed in plastic and frozen in a beautiful cardboard box and a wonderful thick foam shipping container. At first inspection the frozen roast looked acceptable. I defrosted the roast in my refrigerator, and when I removed the plastic Christmas Eve to cook the beef, my mother-in-law and I were horrified that the ends and bottom of the roast were grey. There was an off-smell to the grey areas, and the mother-in-law declared the roast spoiled and refused to have anything to the roast. I ended up having to run out to the grocery store and served my unhappy dinner guests a mushy honey ham. I paid $149 for an extra special prime roast for Christmas and ended up with a grey spoiled lump of meat that I couldn't cook and a ruined Christmas Eve dinner. Save your money and buy your special occasion roast from a reliable local butcher.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terribly Disappointed!, Received the Prime Rib as a Christmas present & cooked Xmas Day for family! Was so excited & really looking forward to eating it. We like our meat rare and used to rib roast melting in our mouths, but this roast was tough, hard to cut and had no flavor! No one ate more than a bite. Sadly, the worst prime rib we've ever had. Threw it in the woods for the deer! Don't know how to respond to our gift giver as they order from you frequently & have always been pleased!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Good I have been buying two of the prime prime roasts every year around Christmas plus many other items during the year. I really enjoy all of them. I have been tempted to try other sites, but I am not sure I would get the same quality, I just wish they would offer free shipping like some of the other sites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SIMPLY THE BEST As our family gets a little smaller each year it is a little harder to decide what to cook for our Thanksgiving so we do not have all the leftovers. This prime rib (private stock) was perfect for four easy, delicious, and just enough left over for a great prime rib sandwich or two. My two guest are now calling #1 CHEF

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely fabulous It has been quite a while since we have had a true prime (prime) rib. Throughout the years it seems that rather than referring to a standing rib roast or prime rib roast meat companies refer to all as prime rib roasts which is not true. Your prime prime rib roast says it all with no room for doubt as to quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A picture is worth more than reality! If this thing that was sent to me as a PRIME Prime Rib roast was your companies example of a Prime Rib roast, then you had better start selling to fast food chains cuz this was a pathetic example of any kind of roast, especially one designated as PRIME! I ended up having to purchase a REAL Prime Rib roast from Costco and did not serve the Kansas City thing to my guests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prime Rib and Filet Mignon This is the first time for me to buy steaks like this. I have heard from different people how great they were and I hesitated because it was a bit pricey for me. I just ordered some because I wanted to try it and WOW it's worth every penny.Best steaks we ever had and even the steak seasoning was out of this world!! *****stars:)
