  • 1 cup whole milk yogurt
  • 1/4 tsp. saffron threads (dissolved in 1/2 tbsp. hot water)
  • 1 large onion, grated
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • Basting Mixture: 1/4 tsp. saffron threads (dissolved in 1/2 tbsp. hot water)
  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp. powdered sumac
