Get Organized
It’s your party. You should be able to enjoy yourself. So plan ahead. Make a list of the things you need to do, and stagger your preparation so you can get as much as possible done well before the day of the event.
Call in the Professionals
Professional caterers don’t have plates and silverware on hand at the shop. They rent their place settings, serving dishes, coffee urns, linens and a lot more. You can do the same from your local party supply rental store. Even better, you don’t have to load the dishwasher. Just rinse the dishes off, put them back in the box and let the rental store do the washing.
You can even rent the wait staff. Visit your favorite restaurant and ask the staff there if they’d like to work your party. Tell them to show up in black pants, black shoes and a white dress shirt. You can supply the black aprons – rented, of course. For a little extra money, you can have the wait staff rinse and pack those rented dishes.
