Buffalo Jerk Tailgating Sauce

1 onion, minced
2 tbsp. garlic, minced
8 oz. butter
1 cup hot sauce
1 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup honey
2 tbsp. fresh ginger
1 tbsp. ground coriander
1 tbsp. cayenne pepper or paprika
1 tbsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground anise
Directions: Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Saute the onion and garlic until the onion is translucent. Add the hot sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, honey, ginger, coriander, pepper, cumin, mustard, nutmeg, cloves, and anise. Reduce heat and simmer sauce, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
